I never paid attention this phrase, but it seems to carry so much more meaning. Maybe it could also be that Polixenes as a King is not as rich or powerful, so Leontes considers him somewhat beneath him. I wonder if Leontes suspicioned Hermoine's affair with a king more powerful than him. How would he react? Probably be a quiet cuckold and plan to murder Hermoine first than Polixenes.
